We have friends who have a vacation home in Vermont; this is what they found when they emergently went up there last week after the huge ice storm in the New England states. They couldn't get to their house via the road, as lines were down, so had to walk across the lake to get there! It's a gorgeous picture; fortunately disaster was averted as they kept the house warm with kerosene heaters, so pipes didn't burst.

I really love this picture of the house surrounded by the icy trees and lake. It must really be pretty in the fall, with the colors around the house.
