Joey

Dr. G. has a buddy...he named him Joey. He's a squirrel, as you can see. He (Dr. G, that is...LOL!) opens the window, lifts the screen and neatly lines peanuts up on the outer window sill for Joey to eat.

The other day when I was leaving work at the end of the day, there were TWO squirrels out there. When I tried to tell that to Dr. G. he argued with me, saying, "There's only ONE Joey...there can't be TWO out there!" Fortunately I had taken pictures of them both (I know....they both look the same, right?), so I could prove to him that there were indeed two of them out there. He has now decided his partner is Mrs. Joey...LOL!!

This is Joey:

This is din-din!

And a close-up:

Side note: I told Dr. G that I wanted him to put the peanuts out, so I could go out and take a picture of them. He, of course, wanted to know why I would want to do that. I then had to explain to my 69 year old boss that I have a blog! I chose to not go into detail with that...he's not a computer guy, I'm sure he had no clue what I was referring to!! Well, this turned into a big game with him; he made sure he told me that he had put them out, and insisted I drop everything I was doing and go out with my camera and take my pictures! He was certain that if I didn't go out immediately I would get on the phone with my boyfriend (that would be Dr. K...it's an inside joke!) and never get outside to take my pics and the peanuts would be gone by the time I finally managed to get out there! So while he basically stood there watching me, I ran out with my camera to get the last two pics!

LBI (Thanks, Erika!)

So. Adam is working at scout camp again this summer. This past week he had to be there; it was kind of like a work week to get everything ready for the summer, before the kids got there. You may be asking right now, what this has to do with the pics below. Well. Let me tell you. Erika had been invited by friends to spend the week with them at the shore. She left the same day he left for camp. When he went to say good-bye to her that morning, he was invited to come down to visit one day/night. He talked to his boss at camp who allowed him to leave Thursday afternoon, enabling him to drive down to Long Beach Island Thursday evening. Fortunately, Friday turned out to be a half decent day; it rained both Thursday and Saturday.

Shtuff

I finally took the time tonight to go through all the stuff that came with my new camera. I tried to keep it all together and didn't download any of the software until I was sure I was keeping the camera. The software that came with the camera is pretty neat; I don't think I'll need to figure out why the Picasa isn't working on my computer! This seems just as good, if not better. It did take me about a half hour to figure out where to find these pics in the computer that I took, though...LOL!

The first two pics are the kids and chaperones who are going to New Orleans next month to the Lutheran National Youth gathering where about 25,000 teens will unite for 5 days. The kids hosted a spaghetti dinner and silent basket auction. I'm not sure how much was raised tonight; the one we had in February raised close to $2,000 to help offset the cost of the trip. They are surrounding a few of the baskets that were made; I made the one wrapped in blue. In a big plastic bowl, I had a box of popcorn, three boxes of movie candy, a three pack of Cracker Jack and three DVD's: Maid in Manhattan, Enchanted and Castaway. I was a little disappointed; I spent about $27 on the whole basket and it only went for $15. (Oh, yeah, and the kids decorated the shirts they have on. They decorated red, green and blue shirts...each day they'll wear one of the colors to help identify them.)

The rest of the pics are self-explanatory! (Except maybe the last one; that's Keystone Cement in Bath, the tall tower is new and Kurt recently had the opportunity to go to the top. Unfortunately, he didn't have a camera with him, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway, probably, as it was raining and cloudy the day he was there.)

A Mighty Fortress

Our bell choir played 'A Mighty Fortress Is Our God' on Pentecost. Here is a portion of the song. Alyssa was taping it using my camera and my memory filled up not allowing her to finish taping the end of the song. Enjoy!
