Nice Surprise
Earlier today at the end of our contemporary service at church, Pastor Elizabeth asked Alyssa to come up front. She presented her with a prayer shawl that had been made by one of the ladies at our church. They recently began a new prayer ministry which entails ladies crocheting prayer shawls and lap robes for members/friends who are ill. They have since decided to include young people going off to college to let them know there are people from Emmanuel's thinking of them and praying for them. This was a total shock to us; we had no clue she was going to be receiving this! It is beautiful! We asked Pastor E. if she knew who had made it and she said she actually didn't. It turned out that the woman who made it was actually at the service this morning; she walked by us as we were talking after the service with three skeins of yarn; I stopped her and asked her if, per chance, she had made it and it turns out, she had! So we got to thank her in person for doing such a wonderful job! Unfortunately, it's either a new member or a regular visitor to our church and we didn't get her name.

I love it! It's gorgeous!
What a nice surprise! Glad to see you made it through the first six weeks! How many more to go?
BTW, did Alyssa get a note from me last week before she left PSU? I didn't realize you were getting her on Wednesday.
Too many weeks left...LOL!! Yes, she said she was glad she checked her mailbox when she handed in her key because there was a note from you. Thanks for thinking of her!
BTW, she got A's in both classes!
Yeah, Alyssa! Way to go!!!!
