I met four friends tonite at Don Pablo's; we used to work together in the dialysis unit at The Allentown Hospital in the late 80's/early 90's. It was sooo much fun to sit and reminisce about the good old days. Three of the five of us are still in the nephrology field; the other two were smart enough to get out! No, actually, I am just teasing. Nephrology is the type specialty that you either love or hate. I actually love it. I have had the opportunity to experience both ends of the spectrum. I was a dialysis nurse for almost 13 years before working in the office I am currently at. In my current position, I deal with the pre-dialysis and transplant population.
We sat and talked for close to three hours. We caught each other up on our families, looked at pictures of our kids, shared our current job responsibilities and just enjoyed reminiscing about our days in the dialysis unit. Unfortunately, due to our busy lives, these get togethers have been limited. We're going to make an attempt to do it more often.

OH and i have to say, when i saw the title of your post on my home page, i thought i'd see a picture of all u guys, so i had a nice laugh when i actually saw a picture of a dialysis machine LOL
I look at that picture and hope I never have to go through that. My grandmother goes to dialysis at St. Luke's. Nice people caring for you can make it easier though.
