“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20 (NRSV)
Adam was confirmed today after a two year catechetical program. It is called the affirmation of baptism in the Lutheran church because he was making public affirmation the vows that were made for him at the time of his baptism. Those include living among God's faithful people, hearing his Word and sharing in his supper, proclaiming the good news of God in Christ through word and deed, and serving all people and striving for justice and peace in all the earth.
