Cuteness

Colm is our nephew who was adopted from China earlier this year. He was born with cerebral palsy and unable to walk or stand by himself when he joined our family. He has been regularly having physical therapy and is making great strides! This video shows how he has developed muscle strength in his legs and is now able to get from a sitting to standing position all by himself. In addition (and I don't have a video of this), he recently started standing by himself unsupported for up to over a half a minute! You rock, Colm!!

(Colm was confused with me holding my camera videotaping him; he thought I was trying to take his picture...that's why he was smiling and saying Cheese!!)

And to think 7 months ago he didn't know any English!! Today he told Kieran he was a Dufus... Not only is his strength increasing, but he has a whole new ever growing vocabulary!!

Lovely to see him, pretty amazing that he couldn't even sit up on his own when we adopted him. Big kudos to his physiotherapist at Cindy Miles - they are AMAZING!

He's adorable! I love the smile!

Where did they get the name from, I've never heard it before. Just curious.

His name is Irish, it means little dove. There is a famous saint in Ireland called St Colmcille. It means dove of the church.

All our boys have Irish names, Kieran, Conor, Colm and the next biy we are adopting will be Carrick. I have to keep up my Irish side to counter the Pennsylvania Dutch last name ;-)

Uh...you're forgetting someone! Patrick? Wait until I tell him tomorrow! (That's the dog....)

Not sure how Fluffy Muffin Daffney Cat fits in there, though! Don't think any of those names are Irish!
