I have this goofy calendar-a-day at work, each day has a different sign that is pretty stupid. This one was amusing to me!
Adam's friend Tori from PSU bought a moped and had all kinds of problems with it. She asked Adam if he'd be willing to look at it and see if he could figure out what was wrong with it and possibly fix it. She traveled an hour and a half to our house for Adam to look at 'Buttercup' and maybe fix what was ailing her. (How many guys does it take to look at an ailing Buttercup??!?!?)
After Adam (and Kurt) diagnosed what they thought the problem was, Adam cleaned the carburetor (or at least I think that's what they did...LOL!!) and everything seemed fine. Word now is that Buttercup is not feeling so well again :(
This is the latest cross stitch that I did for our niece who lives in Pittsburgh. And now I'm on to another one (for Rachel in the pic above). Except I'm really behind! I didn't even start it til AFTER she delivered the baby!
Hot game of Dominion this evening after supper!
Update on the Geiger household:
1. Alyssa: Her 'temporary' job that was supposed to be from October 2011 to December 2012 stretched into late May. She had a three week vacation when my office manager came to me and asked if she was available to cover for one of the phone receptionists at our office who will be on a medical leave for most of the summer. So Alyssa started back at our office this past Monday and will be there most likely until the beginning of September.
2. Adam: He got an internship at FLSmidth, which is the company that Kurt works for. Oddly enough it is through a program with Lehigh University and he receives his paycheck from them. One of his buddies from school has been staying with us, he's been here about a month. Ian graduated from PSU in May and was thinking he might find a job in the Lehigh Valley. Turns out he was hired last week by a Christian software company in Elizabethtown and will be leaving us next weekend. It's been a pleasure having him here, he and Adam have been having lots of fun, and they've also helped Kurt get some stuff done around the house. Last weekend they dismantled a tree that had fallen down in our field last year and was just laying there. They cut all the branches off the tree and then cut the trunk up to use as firewood in the wood stove in the garage. On top of that, they cut the grass last week when Kurt was away. Best of all, I'm not sure when the last time was that I emptied the dishwasher. Thanks, Ian (and Adam, too)!
3. Kurt: He was away last week in Utah for a seminar. It's kinda cute watching him and Adam pull away together on their motorcycles in the morning with their backpacks on their back.
4. Michele: Nothing new with me. It's been very busy at work and I've been spending anywhere from one to two extra hours at work many days. Some of that is related to Rachel (above) resigning. They are in the process of hiring a replacement, but it hasn't happened yet. Well, I did make some purchases in Lancaster when we were there last month to celebrate Mom's birthday at Shady Maple:
I bought a replacement basket at the Shady Maple gift shop to hold my tissues in the bathroom. It was made in China. It wasn't sitting well with me that I got a basket in Lancaster County that came from CHINA!! There's a small Amish gift shop in the back corner of the Shady Maple gift shop, and didn't I find this basket! As you can see it was hand made and also signed...AND was only about $5 more than the one from China. I immediately bought this one and returned the other :)
