One of the guys that works with Kurt, and has a daughter that also attended Northampton High School emailed Kurt these pics today. We had no clue this even existed, let alone had Adam's name there :)

New York, New York
Mom was in NYC today visiting a dear friend of hers, she sent a few pictures, I decided to share them with you all :)
Here's where they ate dinner, cost for 3 people $170!

Nancy and Donald. Don't know who the ones are in between ;)
(Nancy and Donald are siblings. Donald lives down the street from mom, they went into the city today to celebrate Donald's 80th birthday.)

Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch
I made this recipe for dessert tonight. I found it on line; it was pretty good!
In a large bowl, mix 1 cup white sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, 3 cups strawberries, 3 cups rhubarb. Place in a 9x13 pan:
Mix one and a half cups flour, one cup packed brown sugar, one cup butter, one cup rolled oats until crumbly. I used a pastry blender:
Crumble on top of the strawberry/rhubarb mixture:
Bake 45 minutes in a preheated 375 degree oven, or until crisp and lightly browned:
Enjoy warm with a scoop or two of ice cream on top :)
Quite tasty :)

JSYK
My other birthday gift was a battery for my laptop. My first one died, this one is apparently super-charged and should last longer. Yay!
On a totally unrelated note, can anyone tell me how many drying cycles it takes for their towels to dry?!?! It's 0100 and I now just had to turn my dryer on for the THIRD time because the towels are still not dry...ugh. This dryer is probably at least 18-20 years old, not sure if it's just getting tired, or what! And I don't think I have it over loaded...there's three towels and about 10 washcloths...that's it! All I know is that I'M tired and want to go to bed!!

Happy Birthday!
I went on a roadtrip yesterday to this cross stitch shoppe in Glens Mills, PA, which is actually about two miles from the Delaware border! |
Seemed like the logical thing to do to drive the couple miles to get into Delaware to find me some cactus juice. I was, however, totally unsuccessful:( |
I couldn't leave empty handed! |
I was only a few miles from West Chester University and had never been there, seemed like a logical choice to check it out! |
Very nice campus :) |
One of the buildings. |
Chris, Fiona and kids had a birthday cake for me today :) which was totally unexpected, but very much appreciated!! |
And they got me flowers, too :) Thanks guys! |
Alyssa: "Put your heads together, like you love each other!" |
Kurt: "You mean, like this?!!?" |
Alyssa: "Mom, your eyes were closed!" |
Alyssa: "We gotta do it again...." (Kurt and I had NO clue we had a third party in these pics...LOL!! I cracked up when I finally looked at these pics on my phone....) |
Finally! |
My gift from Alyssa :) |
Inside front cover....lots of pics inside. Brought tears to my eyes :-) |
My gift from Adam :) |
Me and Alyssa at lunch :) |
We had a lovely lunch at That's Amore in Bethlehem. The four of us, plus Sarah (Alyssa's college roomie and BFF) and Ian (Adam's buddy from college, who's gonna be spending some time with us this summer) totally enjoyed our meals. And the chef, who's a friend, sent out a mini-cannoli for each of us for dessert :) Kurt informed me earlier in the day that he didn't have presents for me as of yet...one of them hasn't been delivered yet (no clue!), and the other one 'I needed to do myself.' I had no clue what that meant ;) I learned this evening that the 'do it myself' gift was that I could sign up for Amazon Prime, which in addition to giving me free shipping on Amazon, will allow me to watch thousands of movies/TV shows on my Kindle Fire.
All in all....a good day :)

Congratulations Josh!!
I hope Renee, Jeff and Josh don't mind that I stole some pics off Facebook ;) Renee has been my life long friend; we met when I was five years old and she was a mere three!! The rest has been history. Unfortunately they moved to Georgia many years ago, so we rarely get to see each other, but the few times that we do (often around Christmas time when they come up to visit family), it's like we've never been apart! I was Renee's maid of honor, and she mine. Renee and Jeff were Adam's sponsors when he was baptized and Kurt and I were Josh's when he was baptized. Today was Josh's graduation from Landmark Christian School and in August he is off to Mississippi State University.
Our love, best wishes and congratulations to you, Josh!!

Miracle :)
So many of our friends and relatives prayed for Holly for months after her very serious car accident this past September. I wouldn't post this if it weren't already totally public on Susquehanna University's web site. If you click on this link and go to about 1 hr and 12 minutes, you'll can watch Holly graduating this past Saturday. Even though she missed her whole senior year, she still had enough credits to graduate :) According to her mom, there was not a dry eye in the place when she walked across the stage to receive her diploma.
Holly still needs all your prayers, she has some upcoming surgeries and continues with intense physical, occupational and speech therapy.
