Tonight we celebrated Alyssa's 21st birthday. We allow the kids to choose their restaurant of choice on their birthday...after much consideration she picked Youell's Oyster House in Allentown. Kurt and I had been there many, many years ago....pre-kids, I'm sure! The food was fabulous! Alyssa had a sauteed seafood combination, Adam a fried seafood combo, Kurt had crab imperial and I had a Maryland crabcake. Adam had raw oysters as an appetizer (yuck!), while the rest of us had crab bisque...probably the best I've ever had!
This is the 4th year we've had to celebrate Alyssa's birthday early, as she has been gone by the 28th. Since she's gonna be 21, I'm sure she'll be celebrating with friends next Saturday by having a drink or two (hopefully no more than that...LOL!) The bars in State College apparently stamp the birthday person's hand...this stamp alerts the bartenders to the fact it is that person's 21st birthday and for 48 hours no bars will sell them any shots.
