This is one of my favorite embroidery pieces that I did many years ago (like in the late '80's). I haven't been able to find anything like it since then. If you enlarge the pic, you'll see it's all basically the same stitch. It's held up fairly well, too, with living most of the year in the attic!

Fiona's kids and dad took a walk to Cracker Barrel earlier in day, found centerpiece for the table for 1/2 price ($15)...what a bargain:

Another 4 Years!
Ha!
Adam was chosen as having the 'coolest' car in his senior class! The voting is done by the whole class and is ultimately for the yearbook. He was also voted the 'loudest' (person, not car) in his class! He was only allowed to have one honor, so he had to choose, he picked coolest car!
The funny thing is that we picked up another car for him to drive (that has heat...LOL!), a VW Jetta (I think I'm seeing a theme here!), so he's currently not driving the VW Bug! He and Kurt are planning on doing a major restoration on it, which would take it off the road and he definitely needs a car every day, as he is taking this engineering course at Bethlehem Area Vo-Tech which is in the middle of his day at school. Plus he is now working at the Papa John's in East Lawn as a delivery boy. Let me tell you, that's the job to make some good money!! He makes great money on tips! In the last two weeks, with working 8 nights, he made $250 in tips! Plus he gets minimum wage and 70 cents per trip besides! Granted he has to use his own vehicle and gas, but he's still making out!!
I'm proud of him for getting himself a job; Alyssa never had one during her high school years. Mainly because she was too involved in so many other activities...dance 3-4 nights per week, band, orchestra, choir, bells...there was no time left for a job. Adam doesn't do nearly as much as what she did. I just hope it's not too much with his class load, but I am sure he's enjoying the extra spending money!!

Cupcakes...and a Cat.
Carly, Rachel and Alyssa (all friends from church), got together earlier today to make cupcakes for their meeting at church tonite. They baked them, and while they were cooling, took a trip to the mall (what else would you do while cupcakes are cooling, but go to the mall!?!? LOL!!). When they got back, they frosted them.

Yum! Shoo Fly Cake!
Crumble together in one bowl:
4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup vegetable oil
Reserve one cup for topping
Mix in another bowl (should be large, when baking soda gets added the liquid expands):
1 cup light molasses
2 cups boiling water
Add to molasses/water:
1 Tbsp. baking soda
Mix well
Add crumbs to the liquid. Mix slightly by hand. It looks like a lumpy thin brown mix. Put in greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle crumbs on top. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 55 minutes.
It's delicious and very easy to make!

Chick-Fil-A
A new Chick-Fil-A opened today between Easton and Nazareth. As I drove by the restaurant on Wednesday, I noted a bunch of tents set up on the property. I had heard they do something special on their grand opening for the first 100 customers, but wasn't sure exactly what it was they do. I went back on my lunch hour to take some pics, cuz it just amazed me that people would go to these extremes for a freebie. Today I saw a news story on our local station that they actually give the first 100 customers free chicken filet sandwich meals for a year! I guess knowing that now makes it worth it! They interviewed a woman who was camping out from Hatfield, PA and a gentleman from Maryland, so guess they come from all over!!
**Enlarge the pics to get a better of idea what it looked like!!

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies
Sounds healthy to me! I found the recipe in my Rachael Ray magazine, but it's also on the Ocean Spray cranberry website. I'm not sure I'd make them again, they just seemed to be missing something to me (not sure what...LOL...seems like it's got everything in them!). Everyone who tasted them, though, said they really liked them (unless they were just saying that to be nice!)
