Somewhere along the line Frodo acquired the habit of drinking water from a paper cup in the upstairs bathroom. A certain college student in the family egged him on by filling the cup regularly for him. He's been having some issues lately, as that certain college student is not home to fill it. When I go to bed at night, he follows me upstairs, jumps up on the sink and yells at me until I fill it for him!




I've been catching Macy sleeping on Alyssa's bed up near her pillow...it's so cute! Last night I took my camera up to bed hoping to catch her there so I could take a picture. Of course, she wasn't there! Instead, she was in her favorite chair in her room. You can see it is indeed her favorite chair 'cuz it has her hair all over it!! Note in the second picture, she must have had an altercation with another cat (Frodo I'm guessing)...she has a little boo-boo! It's OK though, G'ama kissed it!

Desperation

About the only other person that Macy likes less than me is Adam. We've decided she must be desperate; she let Adam lay down alongside her this morning and pet her for a good five minutes. This was after she allowed me to pick her up and pet her. I'm not sure, but I think she might be missing someone!

Road Trip!

I couldn't stand it any more! I had to go to State College to see my sweetie! Miget and I took a road trip today to spend the day with Alyssa. We had a wonderful time. We ate lunch at one of the local diners named Babies, we drove around campus and Alyssa showed us where her classes are now and will be in the fall. We saw which dorm she will be in for the regular school year. We visited Matt and Karlyn and kids. We shopped at Fashion Bug for some school clothes for Alyssa. We visited with Alyssa in her dorm, then went to Applebee's for dinner and rounded out the day with ice cream at The Creamery. The weather was beautiful and it was sooooooo good to see Alyssa!

I chopped two big cucumbers and a red onion in about 5 minutes with this handy dicer/chopper. It really does work; the only thing I don't like about it, however, is the clean-up. It's a pain to clean in between the cracks!

Ten youth and two chaperones from our church left this morning for a four day Lutheran regional youth gathering at West Chester University. Our own home church band, SWIM, will be playing one evening. God's Blessings to them all!

Jamie found it in the outer pouch of her lunch bag the other day at work. She dropped it on the floor, I saw it go, looked down and thought it was a mouse!! She apparently forgot that she had it....she generally doesn't eat them quite that ripe!

>Tonite I got supper right! There was pork in with the sauerkraut, and I actually defrosted the mashed potatoes, not the vanilla pudding...LOL!! Now hopefully it's sausage in that container for the sausage sandwiches tomorrow night!!

Dinner

I don't think we were meant to have supper tonite! I decided I was going to use up all kinds of leftovers in the freezer this week, since Adam is not fond of them. I got two containers of pork and sauerkraut and two containers of leftover mashed potatoes out of the freezer last night to defrost over night. This morning I looked in the containers (of course, I can't take the time to label any of them) and one of them, yes, did have sauerkraut...the other, however, had creamed dried beef in it! That wasn't gonna work! So I put the dried beef in the fridge, figuring I'd make that tomorrow night.


Then tonite I get home and open the container of pork (or so I thought) and sauerkraut. Turns out it was just sauerkraut...not even a smidgen of pork! There went that idea! I found the container I really wanted in the other freezer.

Guess I need to be better about that labeling thing! Fortunately I brought home zucchini from Rachel at work, so I worked that into a different meal! Thanks, Rach!

A Camping We Will Go....

It's quite weird here; not only is Alyssa gone, but we took Adam to Bear Creek this afternoon for a week of camp. We have been home for about five hours and I don't think one word has been uttered since then! I'm not looking forward to the day that they're both gone!!

Mom, Adam and our friend Gail visited Alyssa today in State College. They did some sightseeing, shopping and eating ice cream!

It was kinda quiet around here today with both kids gone. I guess it's just a foretaste of what's to come, we take Adam to Bear Creek Camp tomorrow for the week....it'll be like a second honeymoon for Kurt and me! (Not!)
